THE NEW FASHION TALENTS SHOWROOM BELIEVES IN  FORWARD-LOOKING PROJECTS FROM PORTUGUESE FASHION DESIGN AND TEXTILE ALUMNI, FROM ESCOLA SUPERIOR DE ARTES APLICAS IN CASTELO BRANCO.

CURATED BY ALUMNI, MARTIM ALVAREZ, A SELECTION OF SIX PAST GRADUATED STUDENTS CREATES A DIGITAL SPACE WHERE THEIR PROJECTS ARE SHOWCASED. FOR THE FIRST YEAR SHOWROOM, THE THEME IS TRADITION AND VANGUARD, SUPPORTED BY “ARQUITETURA POPULAR EM PORTUGAL”, PUBLISHED IN THE 50’S OF THE 20TH CENTURY WITH THE AIM OF CATALOGING VERNACULAR ARCHITECTURE IN PORTUGUESE TERRITORY.

WITH THIS DOCUMENTAL AS A REFERENCE, THE PROJECT CREATES A RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE MODERN AND THE TRADITIONAL.

BEIRA BAIXA IS DESCRIBED AS A REGION WITH CONFINED ZONES. THIS FOCUS IN THE GEOGRAPHY IM-
PORTANCE IS ALSO FELT IN THE ACADEMIC ENVIRONMENT, NOT ALLOWING GREAT PROJECTION OF THE COURSE TO THE OUTSIDE AREAS OF PORTUGAL.
